As each of you aware that, Scratch is a block-based visual programming language and online community targeted primarily at children. Users of the site can create online projects using a block-like interface. The service is developed by the MIT Media Lab, has been translated into 70+ languages, and is used in most parts of the world.
MY ROBOT TIME ASIA, the affiliated partner of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and MOE has materialize with a plan to create the competition named MRT SCRATCH to cultivate the interest and enhances the involvement of our students in coding ability. We welcome all the students aged 7 to 17 to take part to showcase their talent as this activity will promote practical ability with physical hardware and enhance digital literacy awareness in a big scale.
Coding drives innovation. From self-driving cars to robot-assisted surgery to social media, computer science is revolutionizing every aspect of our lives. Coding is a fundamental skill that children need to learn so they can lead this movement. Coding is a basic literacy in the digital age, and it is important for kids to understand and be able to work with an understanding the technology around them. MY ROBOT TIME ASIA plays a role to prepare learning of coding at a younger age in order they are well prepared for the future technologies. It helps to develop problem solving skills such as perseverance, trial and error and understanding of cause and effect, analytical thinking and reasoning skills, as well as math and language skills. It also challenges children to think creatively and to pursue innovative ideas and solutions.
Scratch is an ideal tool for teaching kids how to code. Furthermore, it is incorporated into government school curriculum Asas Sains Computer (ASK) in KSSM. MRTScratch is a tranquil and virtual to develop interactive games and children can use MRTScratch to learn while creating for their own games.
The speciality of this competition will be the integration between scratch coding and our robotics blocks that allows the students to convert their codes into the real effect of lights and sounds which create the visibility in the physical world. This will generate a satisfactory and develop greater passion for coding. Children able to use MY ROBOT TIME product to enhance their gaming experience to the next level.
